Community Information Meeting at Greenbrier West

COMMUNITY INFORMATION MEETING Thursday, August 4, 2016 Greenbrier West High School Auditorium Starting at 6:00 p.m. This meeting is being organized by community leaders in western Greenbrier County involved with the Greater Greenbrier Long-Term Recovery Committee. The goal for this meeting is to provide answers to questions for community members and leaders relating to flood recovery for both the present and long-term. We want to make sure that every question asked will have an answer provided by the best person available to speak on that matter. Please try to arrive by 5:45pm and email Tammy to advise if you will be attending or you will be sending someone on your behalf. Children’s Home Society of West Virginia Still Accepting Donations for Flood Relief

Thank you, Davina Agee and Children’s Home Society of WV. This group is still accepting donations and helping flood victims. Please support the great work they’re doing! Here’s a brief update from Davina on their efforts so far: This week we have had the pleasure of delivering 23 household appliances and over $4k dollars in cash and gift certificates to help people rebuild. Phone Number to Apply for Home Demoliton

Press Release from Greenbrier County Homeland Security Emergency Management: For Immediate Release: Date: July 29, 2016 To: All NGO’s, Public Officials and Public Good Morning Everyone, Please be advised that starting Monday August 1, 2016, at 9am we will have a phone set up for people who are interested in applying for demolition of their homes and debris from the demolition to be hauled away. This is a State and Federal program. The process will be that a person, who has the legal authority to the property, to call in to this number 304-647-9930 (Monday – Friday 8:30 – 4:30) and provide name, address and contact number. We will then have a county person come to make a determination if the home will meet the criteria to future process the application. If your home is determined to continue in the process then we will have you come in to sign a “Hold Harmless and Right of Entry” document. We will then send your application to the State for future processing. Then we will wait for the determination from the State on what actions and next steps will be. This is a voluntary program.
