GGLTRC Meeting Schedule and Changes

The next Greater Greenbrier Long-Term Recovery Committee meeting will be at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at WVSOM. The Executive Board will meet with the leadership of each subcommittee at 3:00 PM. We will not longer have Friday meetings at WVSOM, which will allow time for each subcommittee to meet and perform their individual missions. The Tuesday meetings at 4:30 will alternate between eastern Greenbrier County (WVSOM) and western Greenbrier County (location to be determined). DHHR to Conduct Post-Flood Community Health Surveys

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) will be conducting a community health assessment for public health emergency response (CASPER) in Greenbrier County August 1-3. During the CASPER survey, trained public health interviewers, including state and local public health personnel, will use a standardized questionnaire to evaluate the physical and behavioral health of a household, in addition to inquiring about knowledge of safe practices and access to information and resources for recovery. FEMA advisors will be at ACE Hardware, 326 Main St, Rainelle, WV 25962, this week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., through Saturday, Aug. 6, to answer questions and offer home improvement tips along with proven methods to prevent and lessen damage from future disasters. A variety of free workshops for storm-impacted homeowners on such topics as repairing or installing flooring and what to do with rain-soaked drywall will be presented daily.
